www.wtso.net

I am one of the few people who can say they have seen every episode of The Simpsons. Seasons 3 to 8 is the greatest television you’ll ever watch, with its biting satire and sharp humour; from there on in it’s generally forgettable with ridiculous plotlines, random moments and overall meh. Regardless of the disparity in the series, if you’re ever looking to put on a specific or random episode, go to Watch The Simpsons Online and who knows, maybe you’ll find an episode from recent years that is actually funny. I would recommend The Debarted (parody of The Departed)

The Comedic Stylings of Mitch Hedberg

When I think of the greatest comedians of all time I think of Pryor, Carlin, Rock, C.K. These guys are gut-bustlingly funny while offering pretty profound social commentary. To this list I add Mitch Hedberg, a damn great comic that did not need to rely on political or social discourse to keep his crowd entertained, but rather 10 second one-liners about ducks in the 7-11, the mystery of sesame seeds sticking to the bagel and why we enjoy club sandwiches even though were not members. Log onto you YouTube and see why those ridiculous words translate into comic gold

The Stockyards Smokehouse & Larder

Forgive me kosher gods! Many years ago I attempted to be a vegetarian for a week. I found myself eating veggie burgers for most of the short-lived experiment, which I interpreted as a testament to my unwillingness to part from the good stuff. Stockyard is my favourite restaurant in Toronto if I’m craving meat. You know how you can tell a place is good when it is always busy? It’s heaven for a meat lover looking for quality over quantity, satisfaction over heartiness. So you think you’re a rib person? They serve the greatest ribs you’ll eat in Toronto. Trust.

Rubber Soul

Fab Four at the height of their alikeness
When I think of Rubber Soul I always wonder: wouldn’t it be great if the Backstreet Boys resurfaced with a folky, psychedelic album that re-defined popular music? Before this album The Beatles were a hard-working bluesy rock band with a repertoire overflowing with covers. This was the turning point that led to their remaining albums that continue to blow and ease my mind. “Michelle” is mellow, “Drive My Car” is bitchin’, “Norweigan Wood” is timeless; the other great songs deserve equally complimentary adjectives. If Aliens came to my door and demanded a worldly possession I would give them a copy.

Game of Thrones

Don't mess with the Stark clan
A topical gem. As the second season has come upon us, it's no better time than now to get on board and watch one of the best series to have ever appeared on the boob tube, laptop screens. I've been told the books are fantastic and that they have been adapted faithfully and accurately; maybe in fifty years I'll read them but for now I am going to enjoy the movie-like cinematography, brutal violence, rich characters, good old fashioned nudity, Peter Dinkladge and the greatest opening sequence you'll ever see for a television program. Yeah, it's a good show.
